Hello, I'm Alyssa
Nutrition care that looks beyond what you eat.
I’m an Accredited Practising Dietitian based in Sydney, providing personalised, evidence-based nutrition care in person and online.

New Concept Nutrition Story
Women are not simply smaller versions of men.
Our bodies change throughout life — and for women, those changes are strongly influenced by reproductive hormones.
Across the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, postpartum years, perimenopause and menopause, changes in oestrogen, progesterone and other hormones can influence appetite, energy, sleep, mood, blood glucose regulation, body-fat distribution, muscle, bone health and exercise recovery.
At New Concept Nutrition, we believe good nutrition should recognise these changes rather than treating every body the same.
When we understand what is happening inside the body, we can make smarter decisions about how we eat, exercise, recover and care for ourselves.
The goal is to work with your changing body — not against it.
For many women, this becomes especially important during perimenopause and menopause. A woman may notice that the same eating pattern and exercise routine that worked for years suddenly produces different results. Weight may change, abdominal fat may increase, muscle can become harder to maintain, sleep may deteriorate, appetite and cravings can change, and cholesterol or blood glucose may start moving in the wrong direction.
These changes are not adequately explained by the number on the bathroom scale.
That is why our current clinical practice looks beyond weight.
We combine detailed nutrition assessment with body composition and functional assessment to understand what is really changing — including body fat, waist measurements, muscle, strength, physical function, energy, sleep, metabolic health and dietary quality.
Our approach is not about following another restrictive diet, chasing a number on the scale or trying to “balance hormones” with a magic food.
It is about understanding your physiology, your nutrition, your body composition and your stage of life, then using that information to build a practical strategy that is personalised to you.
A patient may lose very little weight but reduce abdominal fat, improve skinfold measurements, preserve muscle, become stronger, sleep better and improve metabolic health.
That is meaningful progress.

Healthy aging and vitality enhancement
But women’s health has become an increasingly important part of our practice.
Because once we understand how the female body changes through different stages of life, we can stop applying a one-size-fits-all approach and start making nutrition and lifestyle decisions that make sense for the body we have today.
Understand your changing body.
Protect muscle and bone.
Support metabolism and long-term health.
Work with your body, not against it.
